Co-organized by Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Cégep de Victoriaville, University of Lousiana at La Fayette, Université de Namur, Espace Mendes France & CNRS.
The school consists of theoretical sessions with one major group exercise. The school aims to be multidisciplinary and multi-sectorial. The difficulty level of the presented theory will be variable from a speaker to another. The academic level of every team member will be taken in consideration for the group exercise. Lunch times will be animated with oral presentation about from students or guest speakers. Other activities will complement the school: opening cocktail with municipal officials from the host city, industrial tours, a “citizen” day networking with citizens and representatives from public and private sectors of the host city, gala dinner… Meals and accommodation will be provided for school students.
The registration period is now opened and places are limited. A student discount is available for those who show proof of being registered at university, college or high school. According to terms and condition of participating institutions, it could be possible for university or college students to credit the formation.
A sponsorship plan will be soon proposed. Sponsors will benefit from the great visibility of the school. An employee of the sponsor will have the chance to register for free while others will be able to register at the student rate.

VERTECH network (formerly SESAME) is a group of intermediate size cities recognized worldwide for their novel initiatives in sustainable development (Poitiers, La Fayette, Namur, Victoriaville). The network gathers main actors of member cities that are interested by the search of global and durable solutions, and to facilitate development of collaborations.
VERTECH organizes activities for networking and exchanging ideas on a regular basis between delegations from each member city with municipal actors, local businesses, institutions and research center. The network organizes the VERTECH symposium and the international student competition VERTECH CITY every one or two years. The network also initiates international research and innovation projects (e.g. VERTECH I pilot project at Victoriaville).
Recently, the network jumped into the organization of international summer schools with the help of an international consortium specialized in organizing such schools (Université Savoie Mont-Blanc, École des Hautes Études de la Suisse Occidentale, Unviersité du Québec à Trois-Rivières).
Rates include accommodation, meals (except Friday dinner, whole Saturday and Sunday) and the travel between lesson location, accommodation site, and evening lunch places. The school does not undertake travelling expenses of participants. School organizers will help, however, to identify international programs to mobilize students.
